Ingredients

Scale

For the Rice Pudding

    • 150g (3/4 cup) short-grain rice (such as Arborio)

    • 1 liter (4 cups) whole milk

    • 50g (1/4 cup) sugar

    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

    • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)

    • Pinch of salt

For the Strawberry Jam

    • 250g (1 1/2 cups) fresh strawberries, hulled and chopped

    • 100g (1/2 cup) sugar

    • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

    • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

Step 1: Cook the Rice Pudding

    • In a saucepan, combine rice, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt.

    • Bring to a gentle simmer over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.

    • Cook for about 30-35 minutes, stirring frequently, until the rice is soft and the mixture is thick and creamy.

Step 2: Prepare the Strawberry Jam

    • In a separate saucepan, combine chopped strawberries, sugar, and lemon juice.

    • Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the strawberries soften and the mixture thickens (about 10-12 minutes).

    • Stir in vanilla extract and remove from heat.

Step 3: Serve the Rice Pudding

    • Spoon the warm rice pudding into serving bowls.

    • Top with a generous dollop of homemade strawberry jam.

    • Serve warm or let it cool and enjoy chilled.
