Ingredients
Scale
-
- 1 sheet of ready-made puff pastry (about 250g)
-
- 150ml (2/3 cup) tomato passata or pizza sauce
-
- 150g (1 1/2 cups) grated mozzarella cheese
-
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano or Italian herbs
-
- Optional toppings: pepperoni, mushrooms, olives, cherry tomatoes, or bell peppers
-
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (for brushing)
-
- Fresh basil leaves (for garnish)
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat the Oven
-
- Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
Step 2: Prepare the Puff Pastry Base
-
- Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface if needed, keeping it about 1/4 inch thick. Transfer the pastry to the prepared baking tray.
Step 3: Score the Pastry
-
- Using a sharp knife, lightly score a 1-inch border around the edges of the pastry. Be careful not to cut all the way through. This will create a raised crust as the pastry bakes.
Step 4: Add the Sauce
-
- Spread the tomato passata evenly within the scored border, leaving the edges clean for the crust to rise.
Step 5: Add Cheese and Toppings
-
- Sprinkle-grated mozzarella cheese over the sauce. Add your chosen toppings evenly across the pastry.
Step 6: Brush the Edges
-
- Brush the edges of the puff pastry with olive oil to help them turn golden and crispy.
Step 7: Bake the Pizza
-
- Place the tray in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the pastry is puffed and golden, and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Step 8: Serve
-
- Garnish with fresh basil leaves, slice, and serve hot. Enjoy your quick and delicious puff pastry pizza!
