Description

Jamie Oliver’s One Cup Pancakes are made using one cup each of self-raising flour, milk, and an egg to create light and fluffy pancakes. This straightforward recipe simplifies breakfast prep, making it ideal for beginners and busy mornings.

Ingredients

Scale

  • 1 cup self-raising flour
  • 1 cup milk (dairy or plant-based)
  • 1 large egg
  • A pinch of salt
  • Butter or oil for frying

Instructions

Step 1: Make the Batter

In a large mixing bowl, add the self-raising flour and a pinch of salt. Crack in the egg and pour in the milk. Whisk everything together until you have a smooth batter. The consistency should be thick but pourable.

Step 2: Heat the Pan

Place a non-stick frying pan over medium heat. Add a small amount of butter or oil to the pan and let it melt, coating the surface evenly.

Step 3: Cook the Pancakes

Pour about 1/4 cup of batter into the pan for each pancake. Cook for 1-2 minutes, or until small bubbles start to form on the surface. Flip the pancake and cook for another 1-2 minutes on the other side until golden brown.

Step 4: Repeat

Repeat with the remaining batter, adding more butter or oil as needed to prevent sticking.

Step 5: Serve

Stack the pancakes on a plate and serve warm with your favorite toppings, such as fresh fruit, syrup, whipped cream, or chocolate chips.
