Description

Jamie Oliver’s Mushroom Omelette is a classic egg-based dish featuring sautéed mushrooms, fresh herbs, and a touch of seasoning. It’s cooked until perfectly golden and can be served on its own or with a side salad for a complete meal.

Ingredients

Scale

    • 2 large eggs

    • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced

    • 1 tablespoon olive oil or butter

    • 1 clove of garlic, minced

    • A handful of fresh parsley or chives, chopped

    • Salt and pepper to taste

    • Optional: Grated cheese or a dash of cream

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Mushrooms

    • Slice the mushrooms evenly and mince the garlic.

Step 2: Sauté the Mushrooms

    • Heat olive oil or butter in a non-stick skillet over medium heat.

    • Add the mushrooms and garlic, cooking for 4-5 minutes until golden and fragrant. Season with salt and pepper.

Step 3: Beat the Eggs

    • Crack the eggs into a bowl and whisk until smooth. Add a pinch of salt and pepper for seasoning.

Step 4: Cook the Omelette

    • Reduce the skillet heat to low and pour the beaten eggs over the mushrooms.

    • Tilt the pan to spread the eggs evenly.

Step 5: Add Herbs and Optional Toppings

    • Sprinkle fresh parsley or chives over the top. If using cheese, add it now.

Step 6: Fold and Serve

    • Once the omelette sets and the edges lift easily, fold it in half.

    • Slide onto a plate and serve immediately.
