Jamie Oliver’s Frying Pan Pizza is a simple, quick, and delicious way to make pizza at home without the need for an oven. With a crispy crust, tasty toppings, and minimal effort, this recipe is perfect for a midweek dinner or a fun pizza night.

For the Dough:

    • 250g (2 cups) self-raising flour

    • 1/2 teaspoon salt

    • 2 tablespoons olive oil

    • 150ml (2/3 cup) water

For the Toppings:

    • 200ml (3/4 cup) tomato passata or pizza sauce

    • 150g (1 1/2 cups) grated mozzarella cheese

    • 1/2 cup sliced pepperoni (or your choice of toppings)

    • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for frying)

    • Fresh basil leaves (optional, for garnish)


Instructions

Step 1: Make the Dough

    • In a mixing bowl, combine the self-raising flour and salt. Add the olive oil and water. Stir to form a dough, then knead on a lightly floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.

Step 2: Roll Out the Dough

    • Roll the dough into a round shape that fits the size of your frying pan. The dough should be about 1/2 cm (1/4 inch) thick.

Step 3: Heat the Frying Pan

    • Heat a large non-stick frying pan over medium-high heat. Add 1 tablespoon of olive oil and swirl to coat the base.

Step 4: Cook the Pizza Base

    • Carefully place the rolled-out dough into the hot frying pan. Cook for 3-4 minutes until the base starts to brown and crisp up.

Step 5: Add the Toppings

    • Flip the dough over and reduce the heat to medium. Spread the tomato passata evenly over the cooked side, then sprinkle with mozzarella cheese and your chosen toppings.

Step 6: Cover and Cook

    • Cover the frying pan with a lid and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese has melted and the base is golden and crispy.

Step 7: Serve
