Description
Jamie Oliver’s Cranberry Sauce is a homemade, tangy-sweet sauce made with fresh cranberries, orange juice and zest, and a touch of sugar. It’s a perfect accompaniment for holiday dishes, adding a burst of color and flavor to the meal.
Ingredients
-
- 300g fresh or frozen cranberries
-
- 150g sugar (adjust to taste)
-
- Zest and juice of 1 orange
-
- 100ml water
-
- 1 cinnamon stick (optional, for warmth)
Instructions
Zest the orange and then juice it. Set both the zest and juice aside.
In a medium saucepan, add the cranberries, sugar, orange juice, orange zest, and water. If using a cinnamon stick, add it to the saucepan as well.
Place the saucepan over medium heat. Bring the mixture to a simmer, stirring occasionally to dissolve the sugar. Continue to cook for 10-15 minutes, or until the cranberries have burst and the sauce has thickened. Remove the cinnamon stick once the sauce reaches your desired consistency.
Allow the sauce to cool to room temperature. It will thicken further as it cools. Serve immediately or store in the refrigerator until ready to use.
