Description

Jamie Oliver’s Jalapeño Salsa is a vibrant, fresh salsa made with jalapeños, tomatoes, onions, cilantro, and lime juice. It’s a versatile topping or dip that adds a burst of flavor and heat to a variety of dishes.

Ingredients

Scale

    • 2 fresh jalapeño peppers (seeds removed for less heat, if desired)

    • 4 medium ripe tomatoes (chopped)

    • 1 small red onion (finely chopped)

    • 1 small bunch of fresh cilantro (chopped)

    • 2 cloves garlic (minced)

    • Juice of 2 limes

    • 1 tablespoon olive oil

    • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Step 1: Prep the Vegetables

Start by finely chopping the jalapeño peppers, making sure to remove the seeds if you want a milder salsa. Chop the tomatoes, finely dice the red onion, and mince the garlic. Set aside.

Step 2: Combine the Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the chopped jalapeños, tomatoes, red onion, garlic, and chopped cilantro.

Step 3: Add Lime Juice and Olive Oil

Pour the freshly squeezed lime juice and olive oil over the chopped vegetables. Stir everything together to combine well.

Step 4: Season the Salsa

Season the salsa with salt and pepper to taste. Mix everything well to ensure the flavors are evenly distributed.

Step 5: Let the Flavors Meld

For the best flavor, let the salsa sit for about 10-15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together. You can also refrigerate it for up to an hour before serving if you prefer it chilled.

Step 6: Serve

Serve the jalapeño salsa with tortilla chips, as a topping for tacos or grilled meats, or as a fresh accompaniment to any Mexican-inspired dish.
