Description
Flatbread is a type of bread that is typically made without yeast, resulting in a flat, round shape. It can be cooked on a griddle or in a pan, making it a quick and easy bread to prepare.
Ingredients
-
- 200g self-raising flour (plus extra for dusting)
-
- 200g plain Greek yogurt
-
- 1 pinch of salt
-
- Olive oil for cooking (optional)
Instructions
In a large mixing bowl, add the self-raising flour and a pinch of salt. Stir in the Greek yogurt until the mixture comes together into a dough. If the dough is too sticky, add a little more flour as needed.
Lightly flour a clean surface and knead the dough for a few minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic. The dough should be soft but not sticky.
Divide the dough into 4-6 equal portions, depending on how large you want your flatbreads. Roll each portion into a ball.
Using a rolling pin, roll each ball of dough into a thin circle or oval shape, about 2-3mm thick. Lightly dust the surface with flour if necessary to prevent sticking.
Heat a non-stick frying pan or griddle over medium heat. If you like, brush the pan with a little olive oil for extra flavor. Cook each flatbread for about 1-2 minutes on each side, or until puffed up and lightly golden.
Serve the flatbreads warm, and fresh from the pan. They’re delicious on their own, with dips, or as a side to your favorite meal.
