Description

Jamie Oliver’s Easy Waffles are a quick and straightforward recipe for fluffy, golden waffles. Made with basic ingredients like flour, eggs, and milk

Ingredients

Scale

  • 2 large eggs
  • 300ml milk
  • 225g self-raising flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • A pinch of salt
  • 50g butter (melted)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • Non-stick spray or extra butter for greasing the waffle iron

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat the Waffle Iron

Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

Step 2: Mix the Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the self-raising flour, baking powder, sugar, and a pinch of salt.

Step 3: Prepare the Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, whisk the eggs, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract (if using) until well combined.

Step 4: Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients

Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, whisking continuously to create a smooth batter. Be careful not to overmix; a few small lumps are fine.

Step 5: Cook the Waffles

Lightly grease the waffle iron with non-stick spray or a small amount of butter. Pour a ladleful of batter into the center of the waffle iron, spreading it evenly. Close the waffle iron and cook for 3-5 minutes, or until the waffles are golden brown and crispy. The cooking time will vary depending on your waffle iron.

Step 6: Serve

Once cooked, remove the waffles from the waffle iron and serve immediately. Repeat with the remaining batter, greasing the waffle iron as needed.
