Description

Jamie Oliver’s 5 Ingredients Prawns is a simple, yet flavorful dish made with fresh prawns, garlic, chili, lemon, and parsley. It’s cooked quickly in a hot pan to maintain the prawns’ juiciness and is perfect for a quick meal.

Ingredients

Scale

    • 300g large raw prawns (peeled and deveined)

    • 2 cloves garlic (finely sliced)

    • 1 fresh red chili (sliced)

    • 1 lemon (zested and juiced)

    • A small bunch of fresh parsley (chopped)

    • 1 tablespoon olive oil

    • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Prawns

    1. Clean the prawns: Peel and devein the prawns if not already done. Pat them dry with a paper towel and season lightly with salt and pepper.

Step 2: Heat the Pan

    1. Heat the olive oil: In a large frying pan, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the sliced garlic and chili, cooking for 1-2 minutes until they start to sizzle and become fragrant.

Step 3: Cook the Prawns

    1. Add the prawns to the pan: Place the prawns into the pan in a single layer. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they turn pink and opaque, and are just cooked through.

Step 4: Add Lemon and Parsley

    1. Add the lemon zest and juice: Once the prawns are cooked, add the zest and juice of one lemon, tossing the prawns in the pan to coat them evenly.

    1. Garnish with parsley: Sprinkle the freshly chopped parsley over the prawns and give everything a good stir to combine.

Step 5: Serve

    1. Plate the prawns: Transfer the prawns to a serving dish, making sure to pour over any juices from the pan.

    1. Serve immediately: Enjoy these prawns on their own, with a side of crusty bread, or over a bed of rice or salad.
